the technicians are even figuratively told
to "forget the last repair," a reminder to
only use up-to-date and accurate manufacturer-guided procedures. A procedure that was current on Monday could
be updated by Thursday, and that's why
the most current procedures are printed
- and paired with - every vehicle that enters the shop.
After every phase in the system, quality
checks are performed to make certain
that the OEM-designed structural integrity is returned to the vehicle, meaning
the vehicle will perform as intended prior
to the collision and as the manufacturer
originally intended. This is even further
evidence of the attention to detail and
emphasis on quality that is built into the
DCR process, an assurance that the system produces safe, cosmetically correct
repairs, allowing the vehicle to retain
maximum value.
Efficiency
The system's success requires undisrupted movement when a car enters the directional flow line after the pre-planning
phase. This places a premium on space,
only utilizing it for vehicles ready for repair. Space is significant with the system
only requiring about 12,000 square feet
to operate, making it crucial that vehicles
move with purpose through the shop -
and the quality checks - and in a meticulous and systematic way until completion. "When we can put the kit together,
fix the car properly, and effectively communicate with the customer and insurance companies, we can produce predictable and dependable results," said
Giarrizzo, adding "and hopefully we are
able to 'wow' the customer."

to the surgical field: When someone
goes in for surgery, the medical team is
entirely prepared, from start to finish,
with everything they need to complete
the procedure and get the patient back
on their feet. Surgeons just don't cut into
a transplant patient, remove the liver, and
then reach into the cooler only to realize

they only have a kidney on hand or the
wrong surgical tools for the procedure
- it just doesn't work like that. Giarrizzo
sees the DCR repair process much in the
same light: all the necessary parts and
updated procedures on hand and ready
prior to the vehicle reconstruction process, ensuring efficient repairs, vehicle
safety, and customer confidence. Or, as
Giarrizzo often went back to, a system
that produces "predictable and dependable results."
