the fixed operations department. Over five years, he
worked his way up from a service writer to manager
of the department.
He was recruited by Denny Hecker Automotive Group
in Minneapolis, and from there continued to move up
the ladder. He eventually landed as the fixed operations
director at Step One. After five years of helping
to grow the fixed ops department, he was ready to
move on. " The owners were taking the group in a different
direction than I wanted to go, " he said. " I am
very employee-focused because employee satisfaction
drives success. I'm thrilled to be with Kayser and
to be going back to my old roots in the Midwest with
a company that is so good to its employees that no
one leaves. "
TIME FOR A CULTURE CHANGE
The Kayser team is well-rounded and solid, yet Kingrey
sees many opportunities to take fixed operations to
the next level. He's starting by slowly changing the culture
towards one that prioritizes efficiency and leverages
technology to increase personal accountability,
customer satisfaction and profitability. He's consulting
with Proactive Dealer Solutions of Huntersville, N.C,
to help with these efforts, especially in the areas of
employee training, outsourced BDC services, and call
management software.
Already in his short tenure, Kingrey is working to make
significant changes to the group's technology infrastructure.
He is adding computers installed in every bay and
will provide tablets and multi-point inspection software
so advisors and techs can conduct vehicle walk-arounds
and feel confident recommending additional services.
He's also tackled the problem of under-scheduling
bays. The group has an online scheduling tool and he's
planning to integrate Brooke, the customer-facing digital
voice assistant (DVA) from Proactive Dealer Solutions,
to answer and appoint inbound service calls. " I
have 10 bays and I need eight hours per day, so I have
80 hours to sell, " he explained. " Technology solutions
help ensure our bays get filled and we are working as
efficiently as possible. "
