it is to learn to delegate effectively. Even though there isn't much training for it, it's a lot more than just telling people what to do. I often remind my team at Bozard Ford Lincoln that delegation without follow through is job or task abandonment. Effective delegation is more than just telling people what they need to do. It is an opportunity for us to connect with them on a level that allows us to start learning to lead them. It's an opportunity to let them know how much we trust that they will do a respectable job, and that we have confidence in their ability to either do the task right out of the gate or learn to do the task with the resources we have provided for them. When we delegate effectively, we are training our team members for the role they are in currently and for the role they are working toward. This process raises the team members to whole new levels while allowing you to be more effective as a manager/leader. But, there isn't much training out there teaching how to delegate effectively.
